My 18 yr. old was caught sneaking out and doing drugs. He would rather live elsewhere and the adult who he is living with wants to take me to court for child support. My son is choosing to live elsewhere where they do not enforce the rules and values I try to. The parents in this home have only made contact with me to ask for child support. Even though I am against my son living in that environment, can this actually be the case where they file for support? My son has one more year of school left.

Answer:

From what I understand, your son has a place to live at your home, but he has to obey your rules to do so. His failure to obey the reasonable rules of your household can be a basis for your refusal to provide support to him, or to any other adult who he lives with.
