Question:

What is important to know about health insurance after divorce?

Answer:

The laws in New York require the parents to be responsible for their children financially until age 21. While there is no requirement by a parent to contribute beyond the age of 21, parents will often agree to cover expenses such as the child’s insurance. The child should still qualify for insurance coverage by her or his parent until the age of 26.
