Is Health Insurance Calculated for Child Support in NYS?
Answer:
- Child Support is not paid as a part of the basic percentage payment that the non-custodial parent pays to the custodial parent
- The payment made directly for the Health Insurance is made by the party that carries the insurance, but the other parent will then pay a portion of that premium back to that parent by what ever basis they decide
- The parents pay Health Insurance in proportion to their income
