divorce_1A lot of people are concerned with the tax consequences of being Divorced, and whether or not they can file their tax returns jointly, as of the judgment of Divorce. The short answer to the question is that two people who are not Divorced yet, as of the end of the tax year, can still file jointly. The bigger question for someone to answer for themselves is whether or not it is beneficial. For that, they could, and probably should, seek the advice of a tax adviser.
